Chimeric antigen receptor T cells are T cells that have been genetically engineered to produce an artificial T cell receptor for use in immunotherapy. Chimeric antigen receptors are receptor proteins that have been engineered to give T cells the new ability to target a specific protein. I'm personally interested in CAR T Cell treatment of Leukemia. By targeting CD19, which is present in high amounts in most leukemia patients, we can develop precise, effective countermeasures.

Fortunately this technology is rapidly advancing! Unfortunately, that means I can't share my research here. Just know that we're accomplishing a lot and hopefully will save many lives!
